Burkman Centre is one of the few barns that is able to train purebreds and half-Arabians in the main ring events of Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Country English Plesure and English pleasure. They also train horses for the specialty disciplines such as Side Saddle, Show Hack and Costume. Every horse is analyzed and fed supplements as needed.

  • Cynthia Burkman:

    For over thirty years Cynthia Burkman has been one of the top trainers in the Arabian horse world, with numerous National Championships in Western, English, Country, Hunter, Side Saddle and Show Hack.

    Cynthia was honored in 2016 with the very prestigious USEF Vaughn Smith Trophy. She has been APAHA Hunter/Show Hack Trainer Of The Year two times as well as APAHA Western Trainer Of The Year. Cynthia has also been honored as AHT Reader's Choice Awards Horsewoman Of The Year. She has bred and raised numerous National Champions.

    Cynthia and her clients are always formidable contenders at the Regional and National shows. Amateur and youth riders form a strong team at the Burkman Centre.

    Natalie Jones:

    Natalie Jones grew up in the Arabian industry with her mother Gail Deuel who was an Arabian trainer and national competitor herself in Country and Hunter winning many National Championships in both divisions.  Gail gave Natalie a very strong introduction to the Arabian breed.  Natalie was the Arabian trainer at Meadowood Farms for over fifteen years.  She has won over fifty National titles in Hunter, Country, English, Show Hack, Western and Side Saddle. The knowledge she is able to offer the clients through training, lessons and showing is what makes The Burkman Centre truly great.

    Devin Miller:

    Devin is a very accommplished horsewoman.  She was raised by her Mom, Vickey Bowan, who has been awarded the APAHA Hall Of Fame Horsewomen of the year for her many years of service and great contributions to the Arabian Breed.  She taught Devin from a very early age to love, respect and always put the interests of the horse first, which Devin does without even thinking about it.  Devin has won National Championships in English, Western, Hunter, and this past year added a Top Ten in Show Hack.  She has also won the APAHA Western and Hunter Horseman of the year awards.

    Taryn Lundquist:

    Taryn Lundquist is a fourth generation horsewoman. After graduating in 2008, she pursued her passion of becoming a horse trainer, and has been competing and winning at the Regional and National levels since she was a very small child. She has won National titles in Showmanship, Saddle Seat and Hunt Seat Equitation, and Horsemanship.  She has also successfully shown in Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Side Saddle, English Pleasure and Show Hack. She has an amazing ability to work with kids and her riders/handlers have excelled in Showmanship, Hunt Seat and Saddle Seat Equitation.
